Courses in the Designation
LUTCF Courses
To earn the LUTCF, students must complete the following LUTCF courses:
Course 1: Advising Process, Risk Management, and Life Insurance
Course 2: Investment and Protection Products
Course 3: Wealth Management, Retirement Planning, and Estate Planning
Each course consists of both online instruction through self-paced modules and fieldwork provided in a Student Learner Guide. This Guide will accompany each module. This fieldwork must be completed during the specified time window to advance to the next module. To complete each course, you must achieve a passing score on the course examination. In addition, you must pass a comprehensive final examination to earn the LUTCF designation.
It is estimated that it will take approximately one year to complete all three LUTCF courses and to sit for the final examination.
The New LUTCF Curriculum
- The LUTCF designation program is provided online through self-paced learning modules.
- All students will select a mentor to help guide them and enhance their understanding of the LUTCF content.
- Learner Guides are also provided and are used for reflection on course topics and to guide conversations with the student’s mentor.
